Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all work carried out by Littler Carpentry & Joinery. Please read them alongside your written quotation, which together form the agreement between us.

Quotations are free and valid for 30 days from the date issued. A quotation is based on the scope of work discussed and any drawings or measurements supplied at the time. If the scope changes once work begins, we will agree any variation in writing before continuing.

For larger jobs we may ask for a deposit to cover materials before work starts. This will be set out in your quotation. The balance is due on completion unless a staged payment schedule has been agreed in writing. Payment is accepted by bank transfer.

We ask that the working area is reasonably clear before we arrive, and that we have access to power, water and parking where needed. Delays caused by access problems outside our control may affect the agreed timescale.

Timber is a natural material and some variation in colour, grain and movement is normal and not a defect. Where you supply your own materials we cannot warrant their suitability or condition.

We will give a realistic start date and duration, and keep you informed if anything changes. Timescales are estimates given in good faith and may be affected by weather, material lead times or works by other trades.

Any additional work identified once a job is underway will be quoted and agreed with you before it is carried out.

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. This covers defects in the work we have carried out. It does not cover fair wear and tear, damage caused by others, misuse, or movement in the existing structure.

We hold public liability insurance. Evidence of cover is available on request.

Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or postpone. Where materials have already been ordered or made to your specification, we may need to charge for those costs.

If anything is not right, please tell us as soon as possible so we can put it straight. We would always rather hear about a problem early and come back to fix it.
